As long as I can remember, creativity has been a way of life for me. I see everything as art. Drawing and painting began for me at a very early age and lessons soon followed. In recent years this urge to create has revealed a definite connection between creativity and spirituality. As I spend time hiking and observing nature and It’s spectacular array of colors and shapes, I’m drawn not only to paint and create, but to recognize how there is no difference between life and art!

In my early adult life, a  fascination with  clothing and marketing led to a career as a fashion illustrator for  Belk Department stores in Charlotte, NC. Years of free lance art for marketing and advertising soon followed. Now much of my time is spent in my studio, creating art for local shops or galleries and offering The “Art” of recycling Art and Craft classes.  While North Carolina has always been my home, Asheville with its strong support of the arts, and beautiful mountains, inspire me in ways that continue to surprise me!

The joy in transforming old and used items into something new and exciting, has inspired me to create  art using recycled items. Bottles and vases take on a new look with paint, bottle caps, can lids old jewelry, and more. Vinyl remenents become floor art. Hand painted cards with leaves and flowers, include verses for personal challenge and growth. Painted old or new furniture becomes an artful accessory. “Drawing” from a higher perspective turns painting into a sacred process where colors, shapes and designs  work together  with the specific intention  of creating an atmosphere of  harmony and balance.
